Key Questions to Ask Before You Get Microblading
Orchid Retreat Day Spa is the leading Microblading specialist in Barnet and North London for Microblading. We see clients of all ages, looking for all results but they all have one thing in common; they all want to make sure they get the right results for them.
With so much choice on the market, I’ve put together my ‘top must-know’ guide, firstly to help you decide if Microblading is right for you and secondly to help you choose safely where to get your brows done.
- WHAT IS MICROBLADING?
Microblading is a form of semi-permanent makeup designed to create brows that look totally natural. Tiny strokes are created with a blade in the deeper layers of the skin and filled with colour that matches your natural colouring.
- IS MICROBLADING RIGHT FOR ME?
It depends what you are looking for. If your brows have become very sparse over time, perhaps through ageing or illness, or a condition like Alopecia then a semi-permanent brow can be a very effective way of adding lost definition and structure to the face.
The same if you have overplucked or are naturally very fair with very light brows. If you’re someone who likes to change hair colour very often you may need to consider which shade brows would be right for you.
- WHAT SORT OF EFFECT CAN BE ACHIEVED?
Any brow shape or effect can be achieved with Microblading, from strongly arched eyebrows to naturally defined, fuller brows. Your consultant should spend time with you before you have your brows done to really work through your aims for your look and how they can be achieved.
- DOES IT HURT?
No, it shouldn’t. Check that your practitioner uses a numbing cream to make the process as comfortable for you as possible. We always do.
- HOW LONG DOES MICROBLADING LAST FOR?
Depending on your skin type, Microblading will last between one to three years. I advise people to book a yearly top-up.
- WHAT SHOULD I BE AWARE OF?
Before you book your microblading session always ask the following questions:
- Are you certified – where did you train?
- How long have you been doing this for?
- Have you examples of your work?
- Have you any customer testimonials I can see?
- Are you insured?
- HOW DO I KNOW IF A PRACTITIONER IS RIGHT FOR ME?
Look at their work. Some places specialise treatments – we’re an alopecia and cancer patient specialist, but your practitioner should be able to show you a wide range of styles and give you plenty of positive testimonials from delighted customers.
And remember gut instinct is a powerful tool. If you feel right about a practitioner and you’ve followed my guidelines, you should be fine.
